We offer a wide range of disease model mice, including the STAM™ mouse, covering inflammation, fibrosis, metabolism, cancer, and cancer immunology.
SMC Laboratories offers a wide range of preclinical animal models including liver disease models such as MASLD, MASH, liver fibrosis, cholangitis (PBC / PSC), acute liver failure, chronic hepatitis and MASH-derived Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Other Fibrosis and inflammation models in our disease model lineup cover organs such as kidney, lungs and skin etc. include renal fibrosis and chronic kidney disease (CKD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), COPD, Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) with Interstitial Lung Disease (SSc-ILD) and Silicosis, as well as skin fibrosis, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis and Alzheimer’s disease.
Especially SMC’s proprietary STAM Mouse can be used for a number of different studies along the line of MASH, liver fibrosis and HCC with underlying Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), Dyslipidemia and Hyperglycemia. This model has been used to evaluate state-of-the-art drug compounds such as Madrigal’s Resmetirom (THR), Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy Semaglutide (GLP1) and Telmisartan (Angiotensin II AT 1-receptor blocker). These compounds and others are available as reference controls for future pharmacological drug efficacy evaluation studies.
We have a track record of evaluating drug candidates with different MoA, targeting numerous pathways and various modalities such as small molecules, therapeutics antibodies (PD1 inhibitors / PD-L1 inhibitors), oligonucleotides and peptides.
