Launch of Rat Disease Model Services
To better meet evolving research needs, SMC Laboratories has officially launched a lineup of preclinical rat disease models across multiple therapeutic areas.
■ Background of Rat Model Introduction
We have observed a significant rise in inquiries for rat-based studies due to the following reasons:
-
Larger body size of rats allows for increased sample volume per animal
-
High demand for repeated blood collection and longitudinal biomarker assessments
-
Growing need for multidimensional analysis of pharmacological effects and disease progression
In response, we have enhanced our capabilities to support rat models across a wide range of disease categories.
■ Representative Rat Disease Models (Selected Examples)
[Liver Diseases]
• CCl₄-induced liver fibrosis model
• CCl₄-induced acute liver injury model
• TAA-induced chronic liver injury model
[Pulmonary Diseases]
• Bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) model
• LPS-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) model
[Renal Diseases]
• UUO (Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction) renal fibrosis model
We have already received multiple project requests for these models and plan to expand into additional indications in the near future.
If you are considering rat models for your studies or would like to discuss your project in more detail, please feel free to contact us.
We are excited to support your research with our expanded preclinical capabilities.
