BDL Model

The Bile duct ligation (BDL) induced cholestatic liver disease model is a model that progresses into acute liver injury following liver inflammation and fibrosis. It is used to evaluate the effectiveness of various therapeutic agents for anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory effects, or any hepatoprotectional functions. The BDL model is suitable for in-vivo screening of anti-fibrotic drugs due to the short study period of two weeks.

Compared to normal mice, fibrosis around the portal vein area is observed in the BDL model.
